Job Description
Applications are invited for the position of Head of the Department under the Faculty of Agriculture /Vety. Science/ Community Science, Assam Agricultural University for a tenure of five years. Interested teachers of the University in the rank of Professor and equivalent in respective discipline may apply in prescribed format within the given timeframe.
A) Faculty of Agriculture AAU. Jorhat: Nematology/ A.H.D./ Agril. Engineering/ Agronomy/ Agril. Economics & F.M. / Extension Education / Agrometrology/ T H T/ Entomology/ Sericulture/ Plant Pathology /
Agril. Statistics.
B) Faculty of Veterinary Science. AAU. Khanapara: Livestock Product Technology/ Microbiology / Vety. Biochemistry
C) Faculty of Community Science. AAUs Jorhat: Family Resource Management / Textile & Apparel Designing/ Human Development & Family Studies
1. Name of the position: Head of the Department (Tenure post of 5 years with Pay scale Rs. 1,44,200 - 2, 18,200 (Academic Level 14) plus other allowances as admissible under the University rules )
2. Essential qualifications:
a. Passed Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture/Veterinary Science/Community Science, as relevant to the requirement of the post.
b. Secured minimum 55% marks or minimum Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of 3.00 in 4 point scale or 7.00 in 10 point scale at the Master's degree level in disciplines of Agriculture/ Veterinary
Science/Community Science, as relevant to the requirement of the post from an Indian University or a foreign University.
3. Eligibility: Professor & equivalent in relevant discipline with 5 years experience should only apply.
4. Desirable:
a. Bagging and operating externally funded project either independently or as group leader.
b. Up-to date knowledge in the relevant discipline and subjects within the discipline.
c. Evidence of contribution to course curriculum development, introduction of innovative teaching methodologies etc.
Age Limit:
Age is not a bar, upto a maximum of 63 years.
