Job Overview
A Furniture Helper is responsible for assisting in the handling, assembly, installation, and transportation of furniture. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn basic carpentry and installation skills.
The Furniture Helper supports skilled carpenters, assemblers, and installation teams to ensure that furniture products are delivered, assembled, and installed safely and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in furniture handling, carpentry, and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Loading & Unloading

Assist in loading furniture and materials into transport vehicles safely.

Unload furniture at delivery sites, ensuring no damage during handling.

Follow safety protocols while lifting heavy items and using equipment.

Organize and stack furniture efficiently to optimize transport space.
2. Packaging & Protection
-
Prepare furniture for transportation and storage using appropriate packing materials like bubble wrap, cartons, and protective sheets.

Ensure furniture is securely packed to prevent scratches, dents, or damages.

Label packages accurately for easy identification and delivery.

Maintain inventory of packing materials and notify supervisors when stock is low.
3. Basic Carpentry Skills

Learn and assist in basic carpentry tasks such as sanding, polishing, and minor repairs.

Support carpenters in cutting, shaping, and assembling furniture components.

Gain hands-on experience in measuring, drilling, and using basic tools under supervision.

Assist in maintaining workshop cleanliness and tool organization.
4. Assembly of Furniture

Assemble furniture as per design specifications, manuals, or instructions.

Assist in checking parts for completeness and quality before assembly.

Ensure all joints, screws, and fittings are securely and accurately installed.

Support team members in complex assembly tasks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
5. Installation at Client Sites

Assist in installing furniture at client locations, including lifting, positioning, and fixing items.

Ensure installations are level, stable, and aligned with client requirements.

Coordinate with clients and team members for smooth and timely completion.

Report any damages, defects, or issues to supervisors immediately.
6. Maintenance & Safety

Follow workplace safety guidelines and protocols while handling furniture and tools.

Keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.

Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and report any malfunctions.

Wear safety gear such as gloves, helmets, or protective footwear when required.
7. Coordination & Teamwork

Work closely with carpenters, assemblers, drivers, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.

Communicate effectively with team members regarding tasks, priorities, and challenges.

Assist in inventory checks and stock management of furniture components and materials.

Participate in training and guidance sessions to improve skills and efficiency.
