Job Description
We are looking for an efficient, courteous cashier who possesses excellent customer service skills. The cashier will scan the customer’s selections, ensure that prices and quantities are accurate, accept payments, issue receipts, answer inquiries, and provide helpful information to customers products, promotions, or item location. You will also respond to complaints, process refunds or exchanges of items, and maintain a clean workspace.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases, providing a pleasant checkout experience.

Address customer inquiries about products, prices, promotions, and store policies in a helpful and professional manner.

Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds in compliance with store policies, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Cash Handling & Transactions:
-
Accurately scan items, process cash and card payments, and give back the correct change.

Operate cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems, ensuring that transactions are processed quickly and efficiently.

Maintain an accurate cash drawer, ensuring that all transactions are recorded properly and discrepancies are reported immediately.
Billing & Receipt Management:

Issue receipts, coupons, or gift cards to customers at the time of purchase.

Process and validate payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, checks, or mobile payments.

Maintain transaction records and ensure they are correctly logged for future reference or accounting.
Inventory & Stock Monitoring:
-
Help maintain inventory accuracy by ensuring products are properly scanned and correctly priced at checkout.

Alert store management about low-stock items, product issues, or discrepancies between the POS system and physical inventory.

Assist in stock organization, particularly during busy hours or as required.
Security & Compliance:

Follow all company policies regarding cash handling, refunds, and discounts.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations, including checking for counterfeit money and preventing theft.

Assist in regular audits and ensure cash drawer is balanced at the start and end of each shift.
Maintenance of Checkout Area:

Keep the checkout area clean and organized, ensuring that all necessary materials (receipt paper, bags, change, etc.) are available.

Help organize and arrange merchandise near the register for impulse sales or promotional offers.
