Job Description
We are looking for a responsible and experienced car driver for transportation services in Mylapore and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate should be familiar with the local routes, maintain a clean driving record, and be punctual and courteous.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safe Driving and Transportation:
Operate the assigned vehicle in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
Transport staff, executives, guests, or goods to various destinations according to schedules or requests.
Ensure passengers are picked up and dropped off in a timely and efficient manner.
Maintain awareness of road conditions, detours, and traffic laws.
Follow assigned routes or use GPS to determine the best travel paths.
2. Vehicle Maintenance and Cleanliness:
Perform routine checks to ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and roadworthy.
Monitor oil, fuel, tire pressure, lights, brakes, and other essential systems.
Arrange regular servicing and repairs as needed and report any issues to the supervisor.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness (interior and exterior) to ensure a professional appearance.
Keep fuel receipts, maintenance logs, and daily vehicle usage records.
3. Logistical Support and Documentation:
Deliver and collect official documents, packages, or materials as instructed.
Assist with loading and unloading of goods or equipment when necessary.
Maintain accurate travel logs, trip sheets, and mileage records.
Handle delivery and receipt confirmations and obtain required signatures.
Support the administrative or logistics team with errands or courier duties.
4. Compliance and Safety:
Comply with all local traffic laws, safety regulations, and company driving policies.
Ensure passenger safety, including use of seat belts and secure transport of goods.
Maintain a valid driver's license and any necessary certifications.
Report accidents or traffic violations immediately to the management.
Understand and follow emergency procedures in case of vehicle breakdown or incident.
5. Professional Conduct and Communication:
Represent the company with professionalism and courtesy while dealing with passengers, clients, and the public.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion, especially when transporting executives or handling sensitive materials.
Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors regarding schedules, delays, or route changes.
Be punctual, dependable, and willing to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime when needed.
