Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly skilled Home Care Nurse to provide full-time, live-in medical and personal care for a patient in their private home. This position requires the nurse to stay with the patient 24/7 and provide continuous support, monitoring, and nursing care, ensuring the patient's physical and emotional well-being at all times.
This role demands a high level of commitment, integrity, and professionalism, as the nurse will become an essential part of the patient’s daily life and healthcare routine. The ideal candidate must be capable of working independently, handling medical and emergency situations calmly, and ensuring the comfort and dignity of the patient at all times.
The nurse will not be entitled to any official leaves or time off, and no advance payments will be made. In return, a competitive salary package will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care & Monitoring

Provide round-the-clock nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, vital signs monitoring, and assistance with daily living activities.

Continuously monitor the patient’s physical condition and report any changes or concerns to the attending physician or family.

Perform routine health assessments, including checking blood pressure, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.

Administer injections, IVs, or other prescribed medical treatments as required.
2. Personal Assistance

Assist with mobility, including transferring from bed to chair, walking support, or positioning in bed to prevent bedsores.

Support personal hygiene including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.

Ensure the patient maintains a clean and comfortable environment.
3. Nutrition & Meal Support
-
Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.

Monitor food and fluid intake to ensure proper nutrition and hydration.

Assist with feeding if the patient is unable to eat independently.
4. Medication Management
-
Ensure timely and accurate administration of prescribed medications.

Maintain accurate medication records and ensure medications are refilled and stored appropriately.

Monitor for any side effects or allergic reactions and report them immediately.
5. Emotional & Psychological Support
-
Provide companionship and emotional reassurance to improve the patient's mental and emotional health.

Offer psychological support by maintaining a positive and compassionate presence.

Encourage mental stimulation through conversation, reading, or interactive activities, as appropriate to the patient’s condition.
6. Coordination with Healthcare Providers
-
Communicate regularly with doctors, physiotherapists, or other healthcare professionals involved in the patient’s care.

Maintain proper medical records and share updates with relevant parties.

Assist during medical visits or remote consultations.
7. Household Hygiene & Infection Control
-
Maintain a clean and sanitized living environment for the patient.

Follow proper hygiene and infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination.

Dispose of medical waste (e.g., used dressings, syringes) safely and correctly.
8. Emergency Management
-
Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies such as sudden illness, falls, or cardiac incidents.

Provide immediate first aid or CPR, if required, and coordinate transportation to the hospital if necessary.

Notify family members and emergency contacts as per the protocol.
Working Conditions:
-
Shift Duration: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (live-in duty).

Location: The nurse must reside in the patient’s home for the entire duration of the employment.

Breaks: Breaks and rest periods are to be taken within the patient’s premises and coordinated to ensure continuous care.

No Leave Policy: This role does not include weekly days off, public holidays, or annual leave.

No Advance Payments: All payments will be made according to the agreed salary schedule. No upfront or advance payments will be issued.
