Hospital canteen operating Manager
Job Description
Working Hours 8 AM-6 PM. No Accommodation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Overall Operations Management:

Plan, organize, and oversee daily operations of the hospital canteen to ensure smooth and efficient service.

Ensure timely availability of food and beverages in sufficient quantity and quality.

Monitor and maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the canteen area.

Manage stock levels of raw materials, food supplies, and packaging materials by coordinating with suppliers and procurement teams.

Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for food preparation, storage, and serving to meet hospital and regulatory requirements.
2. Staff Management:

Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate canteen staff including cooks, servers, cleaners, and support personnel.

Schedule shifts and allocate duties to ensure optimal coverage during all operating hours.

Foster teamwork, discipline, and motivation among staff to maintain high service standards.

Address staff grievances and ensure compliance with labor laws and hospital policies.

Conduct regular performance reviews and identify training needs for continuous improvement.
3. Food Quality and Safety:

Ensure all food items served meet the hospital’s nutritional guidelines and quality standards.

Monitor food preparation processes to ensure hygiene and avoid contamination.

Enforce compliance with health and safety regulations, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) guidelines.

Conduct regular inspections and audits of kitchen and dining areas.

Manage food waste effectively and adopt sustainable practices where possible.
4. Financial and Inventory Control:

Prepare and manage the canteen budget, including expenses for raw materials, staff salaries, equipment maintenance, and utilities.

Monitor daily sales and expenses to optimize profitability without compromising quality.

Implement cost control measures by negotiating with suppliers and minimizing wastage.

Maintain accurate records of inventory, purchases, and sales.

Provide periodic financial reports to hospital administration.
5. Customer Service and Feedback:

Ensure friendly, prompt, and courteous service to all customers including patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

Address customer complaints or feedback promptly and professionally.

Introduce new menu items or services based on customer preferences and hospital requirements.

Conduct periodic surveys to assess customer satisfaction and implement improvements.

Collaborate with dietitians and medical staff to customize meals for patients with special dietary needs.
6. Equipment and Facility Maintenance:

Oversee the maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment, dining furniture, and canteen facilities.

Coordinate repairs and replacements as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Ensure compliance with fire safety and other regulatory inspections.
