Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Guest Service and Interaction

Greet guests warmly upon arrival at the restaurant or dining area.

Present menus, provide detailed information about menu items, daily specials, and promotions.

Answer guest questions related to ingredients, dietary restrictions, or cooking methods.

Take accurate food and beverage orders using notepads, POS systems, or tablets.

Recommend dishes, wine pairings, or beverages based on guest preferences.
2. Food and Beverage Service
-
Serve food and drinks promptly and in a professional manner.

Ensure correct and complete orders are delivered to each guest.

Refill water, drinks, or side items as needed.

Clear plates and glassware between courses and after meals.

Handle guest complaints politely and efficiently, escalating to the supervisor when necessary.
3. Table Setup and Cleanliness

Prepare tables before the arrival of guests by setting up linens, silverware, glasses, and condiments.

Ensure dining areas are clean, organized, and sanitized at all times.

Reset tables for the next guests quickly and efficiently.

Follow health and safety standards in food handling and cleanliness.
4. Coordination and Teamwork

Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth coordination of food service.

Communicate guest preferences, allergies, or special requests clearly to the kitchen.

Assist other waiters and support staff during busy hours to maintain smooth service.

Follow the instructions of supervisors and restaurant managers at all times.
5. Billing and Payment

Present the bill to guests and handle cash, credit card, or room charge payments accurately.

Return correct change and process transactions using billing software or POS systems.

Maintain records of daily transactions and tips, if required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; hospitality or food service training is a plus.

Basic communication skills in English; fluency in local or additional languages is an advantage.

Friendly, polite, and customer-service-oriented personality.

Ability to remember menu items, orders, and guest preferences.

Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays or plates.

Good personal grooming and hygiene standards.

Basic math skills for handling payments and calculating bills.
