• Use cleaning chemicals safely and store them properly

Key Responsibilities
1. Supervision and Staff Management
-
Supervise daily housekeeping operations and ensure timely completion of cleaning tasks.

Allocate duties and responsibilities to housekeeping attendants and support staff according to daily needs and occupancy.

Conduct daily briefings, assign shifts, and monitor attendance and performance.
-
Train new and existing staff in housekeeping procedures, use of equipment, and safety protocols.
-
Provide guidance, feedback, and on-the-job training to improve productivity and performance.
2. Quality Assurance and Inspection
-
Conduct routine and surprise inspections of guest rooms, public areas, restrooms, corridors, and service areas.

Ensure cleanliness and maintenance meet company or industry standards.

Identify any deficiencies or areas needing attention, and take corrective action immediately.

Address guest complaints related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
3. Inventory and Supply Management
-
Monitor the use and availability of cleaning supplies, tools, and linen.
-
Maintain accurate records of inventory and ensure timely ordering or replenishment.
-
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and usage of chemicals and supplies in compliance with safety regulations.
4. Coordination with Other Departments
-
Liaise with the front office or nursing teams (in hospitals) for room readiness, special requests, and priority cleanings.

Coordinate with maintenance or engineering departments for repairs or technical issues in rooms or public areas.

Ensure efficient communication channels are maintained between housekeeping, reception, and other support departments.
5. Safety and Compliance
-
Enforce adherence to health, safety, and hygiene policies and protocols.
-
Train staff on the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning agents, and machinery.

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with local laws, health codes, and organizational policies.

Report accidents, incidents, or hazards to management and support investigation or documentation as required.
6. Administrative Duties
-
Maintain housekeeping records such as cleaning checklists, inspection reports, staff attendance, and incident logs.

Prepare reports on room status, staff productivity, supply consumption, and customer feedback.

Support the Housekeeping Manager in budget planning, performance reviews, and shift scheduling.
