Introduction
An HR Intern plays a vital role in supporting the Human Resources department in carrying out day-to-day operations and assisting with a wide range of HR-related activities. The position is ideal for students, fresh graduates, or early-career professionals who want to gain hands-on experience in various areas of Human Resources, including recruitment, employee engagement, onboarding, payroll assistance, training coordination, and HR documentation.
The role offers an opportunity to learn HR policies, procedures, and best practices while working under the guidance of senior HR professionals. The ideal candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

Assist the HR team in sourcing candidates through job portals, social media, and networking platforms.

Screen resumes and shortlist profiles based on job requirements.

Coordinate with candidates for interviews, assessments, and follow-ups.

Maintain and update the candidate database regularly.

Help prepare job descriptions and job postings for open positions.
2. Employee Onboarding & Orientation

Support in preparing offer letters, joining documents, and onboarding kits for new hires.

Assist in conducting employee induction and orientation programs.
-
Ensure that all employee data and documents are collected, verified, and properly filed.

Help set up necessary IT access, ID cards, and workspace arrangements for new employees.
3. Employee Engagement

Assist in organizing team-building activities, employee events, and celebrations.

Collect employee feedback and help HR analyze engagement levels.

Support initiatives to create a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
-
Participate in planning wellness programs, recognition events, and training sessions.
4. Training & Development
-
Help schedule and coordinate training sessions, workshops, and learning programs.

Maintain attendance records and feedback reports for training activities.

Assist in preparing learning materials and sharing resources with employees.

Track employees’ training progress and performance improvement.
5. HR Documentation & Compliance
-
Maintain accurate records of employee information in HR databases and spreadsheets.

Assist in preparing HR reports, letters, and memos as required.

Support the HR team in ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws.

Update and organize HR files, contracts, and employee records for easy retrieval.
6. Payroll & Attendance Support (If Applicable)

Assist the HR and accounts team in gathering attendance data for salary processing.

Verify leave applications and update attendance registers.
-
Support in reconciling discrepancies related to salary and benefits.
7. Exit Process Assistance

Support HR during employee resignation or termination processes.
-
Help conduct exit interviews and prepare related documentation.

Ensure proper handover of company assets and clearance formalities.
Required Skills & Competencies
1. Technical & Functional Skills
-
Basic knowledge of HR processes, recruitment, and employee management.
-
Familiarity with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
-
Exposure to HR software or Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) will be an added advantage.
2. Soft Skills

Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).

Good interpersonal skills for effective interaction with employees and candidates.

Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Attention to detail to maintain accuracy in documentation and reporting.

Educational Qualifications

Preferred Qualification: Pursuing or completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.

Certifications (Optional): HR management courses or certifications from reputed platforms will be an added benefit.
