Job Description
Research Associate-I position in the Department of Solid State Physics, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science.
Duration: Initial appointment for Six months and may be extended for another six months depending upon the performance.
Essential Qualifications: The candidate should have obtained his/her Ph.D. degree in the field of experimental condensed matter physics. Those who have submitted his/her thesis and waiting for the degree will not be considered.
The candidates should be below 30 years of age and should have B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics with at least 65% of marks. Preference will be given to the candidates with research expertise in studying magnetic and transport properties of transition metal based alloys particularly Heusler based shape memory alloys.

Fellowship : As per rules of the Institute.
The position is purely temporary and the candidate will not have any right to claim (explicit or implicit) to any post in the Institute.

Founded on July 29, 1876 by Dr Mahendra Lal Sircar, IACS is the oldest institute in India devoted to the pursuit of fundamental research in the frontier areas of basic sciences. Professor C V Raman worked at IACS during 1907 to 1933, and it is here that he discovered the celebrated Effect that bears his name and for which he was awarded Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.
