Airmen Group „X‟ (Technical) Trades, Group „Y‟ (Non-Technical) Trades Job Position in Indian Air Force

Indian Air Force offers opportunities for Unmarried Male Indian Citizens from all Districts of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to join as Airmen. The Recruitment Test for Group „X‟ (Technical) Trades, Group „Y‟ (Non-Technical) Trades {except Auto Tech, GTI, IAF(P), IAF(S) & Musician Trades} and Group „Y‟ (Non-Technical) (Medical Assistant) Trade will be held at Multi-Purpose Hall, Netaji Stadium, Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands as per the Selection Programme

Educational Qualification :

(a) Group „X‟ (Technical) Trades :

(i) Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR (ii) Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering, as shown below, from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in overall aggregate, and 50% marks in English in Diploma or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course.

(aa) Mechanical Stream:- Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Design & Drafting), Mechanical Engineering (Foundry Technology), Mechanical Engineering (Machine Tool Maintenance and repairs), Mechanical Engineering (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning), Mechanical Engineering (Tool & Die), Mechanical Engineering (Production), Mechanical Engineering (Fabrication Tech), Mechanical Engineering (CAD/CAM Design & Robotics), Mechanical (Advance Manufacturing Technology), Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, Production Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Advanced Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechatronics.

(ab) Electrical/Electronics/IT Stream:- Electronics, Applied Electronics, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics (Microprocessor), Electronics and Avionics, Electronics (Fibre Optics), Electronics (Robotics), Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering/Technology, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering/Technology, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science & Technology.

(b) Group „Y‟ (Non-Technical) Trades {except Auto Tech, GTI, IAF(P), IAF(S), Med Asst & Musician Trades) : Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

(c) Group „Y‟ (Non-Technical) Medical Assistant Trade : Passed 10+2/ Intermediate / equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Pay & Allowances :

(a) Group „X‟ (Technical) Trades. Rs. 26,685/- per month (approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.

(b) Group „Y‟ (Non-Technical) {Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician} Trades and Group „Y‟ (Non-Technical) Med Asst Trade. Rs. 23,535/- per month (approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.

Age : Enrolment is for an initial period of 20 years extendable up to the age of 57 years

Sequence Of Examination : Written Test. Written Test will be objective type and question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper. Detailed procedure shall be explained before conduct of the examination. Written Test and Duration of the Test will be as follows:-

(a) Group „X‟ (Technical) Trades. Duration of the written test will be 60 minutes and will comprise of English, Physics and Mathematics as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus.

(b) Group „Y‟ (Non-Technical) {Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician} Trades and Group „Y‟ (Non-Technical) Med Asst Trade. Duration of the written test will be 45 minutes and will comprise of English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).

Medical Standards :

Medical Standards. (a) General Medical Standards are as follows:

(i) Chest : Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm (ii) Weight : Proportionate to height and age. However, minimum weight of 55 Kg required for Operations Assistant (ATS) Trade only. (iii) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) not acceptable. (iv) Hearing : Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately. (v) Dental : Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points. (vi) Health : Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain
b) Height, Leg Length, Visual Standards and Colour Vision are as follows:

Workshop Fitter (Mechanical), Workshop Fitter (Smith), Structure Fitter, Propulsion Fitter, Weapon Fitter, Electrical Fitter, Electronic Fitter, *Mechanical System Fitter and *Automobile Fitter, 152.5 cm/ Minimum leg length required for Mechanical System Fitter and Automobile Fitter is 99 cm/ 6/12 each eye correctable to 6/6 each eye/ CP-II

Group „Y‟ (Non-Technical) :

Ops Assistant /152.5 cm/ Not applicable/ 6/12 each eye correctable to 6/6 each eye/ CP-II

Environmental Support Services Assistant (ESSA), Communication Technician and Meteorological Assistant/ 152.5 cm/ Not applicable/ 6/36 each eye correctable to 6/9 each eye/ CP-II

Logistics Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Accounts Assistant and Medical Assistant/ 152.5 cm/ Not applicable/ 6/36 each eye correctable to 6/9 each eye/ CP-III
