Job Description
Informatica Administrator
- Investigate & propose a strategic fit solution across server platform infrastructures.
- Work closely with Business Units, Application teams, infrastructure areas & Vendors to identity, review & evaluate the solution requirements.
- Propose changes to the technical architecture & design solutions as applicable.
- Evaluate & align strategic fit solutions across infrastructure platforms & solutions specific to 'System ' hardware & software technologies.
- Understand, participate, review & influence long term capacity planning & technology investments.
- Experienced on Informatica installation and configuration, upgradation and hot fixes, patches and maintaining Informatica software Power Center 10.x in support of business processing requirements.
- Experience supporting Power Center, Informatica Data Quality, Data Integration Hub, ILM, Enterprise Data Catalog and Axon product configurations on Linux and Hadoop environments.
- Experience in configuration of domain and application services like repository services and integration services.
- Performs all Informatica administration functions such as user access accounts, roles, privileges and LDAP configuration
- Experience with Single Sign on authentication with Informatica products.
- Experience with different connections like Relational connections, Native Connnection and Application connections.
- Hand on experience in code migration by export and import objects and deployment groups.
- Good handle on access control mechanisms. Experienced in using the Informatica command line utilities like pmrep, pmcmd, infacmd and infasetup.
- Solving production issues identified in the application in accordance with the service level agreements and providing workarounds.
- Investigate and resolve Data Integration platform issues by working with various teams like Unix, DBA, Big Data team and Informatica Vendors.
- Experience in shell scripting for automation of the informatica admin process.
- Provide support to application development/production teams as needed.
Participate in defining standards and best practices for administration.
Participate in defining and provide guidance on best practices for data integration architects and developers - Setup, configurations, installations and support for - Informatica PowerCenter, Data Quality, Kerberos authentication for Hadoop and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Providing enhancements to existing solutions to stabilize the environment
- Coordination for software Install/upgrade to the latest version
- As part of user management, need to provide software support, access & permission setup to the new users and remove the access from an ex-employee
- As part of Informatica environment management, need to make sure that all Informatica environments are up and running without any issues
- Knowledge of Informatica dependencies on running Informatica products on Hadoop cluster with Kerberos authentication.
- Perform the disaster recovery tests, PCI recertifications and mitigations on a regular basis.
- Performance tuning and Capacity planning for Informatica environment
