Job Description

Position Summary:

We are looking for a customer-oriented and polite Inside Sales Executive to manage walk-in customers at our retail store/showroom. Your primary responsibility is to greet customers, understand their requirements, guide them through the buying process, and ensure a positive and satisfying shopping experience.

The ideal candidate will have a friendly demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a good understanding of retail sales and customer behavior. Whether you are helping a first-time buyer or a returning customer, your goal is to build trust, assist in product selection, and maximize customer satisfaction and store revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Greeting & Welcoming Customers:

  • Warmly greet all walk-in customers with a smile and a polite tone.

  • Understand the customer’s purpose for the visit and offer assistance promptly.

  • Make customers feel comfortable and attended to throughout their store experience.

2. Product Demonstration & Selling:

  • Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products based on preferences, budget, or requirements.

  • Explain product features, specifications, warranties, and promotions clearly and confidently.

  • Handle product trials, demos, or displays wherever applicable.

3. Guiding the Buying Process:

  • Assist customers in selecting the right product by comparing models, sizes, designs, or features.

  • Offer alternatives or upgrades as per availability or promotional offers.

  • Provide transparent and clear pricing, financing options (if available), and return/exchange policies.

4. Billing & Transaction Support:

  • Coordinate with the cashier or billing desk to ensure smooth check-out.

  • Help in generating sales invoices, tracking inventory availability, or applying discounts.

  • Confirm payment modes and assist in digital transactions if required.

5. Customer Satisfaction & Relationship Building:

  • Maintain a positive attitude even during busy hours or under pressure.

  • Listen to customer concerns or feedback and handle them professionally.

  • Create a pleasant, respectful, and trustworthy shopping environment.

6. Store Presentation & Housekeeping:

  • Ensure that your product display section is clean, organized, and attractive.

  • Restock shelves or displays and report any damages or shortages to the store manager.

  • Follow hygiene, safety, and cleanliness protocols as per company standards.

7. Sales Reporting & Coordination:

  • Maintain daily sales logs and share updates with the manager.

  • Collaborate with store team members to meet daily/weekly sales targets.

  • Assist in stock audits, product tagging, or in-store promotions.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

  • Polite and clear verbal communication

  • Friendly, warm, and customer-centric attitude

  • Ability to build rapport quickly with walk-in customers

Sales & Product Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of retail sales and consumer psychology

  • Ability to learn and remember product details, offers, and store policies

  • Confident in upselling and cross-selling without being pushy

Presentation & Grooming:

  • Well-groomed, neat, and presentable appearance

  • Adherence to uniform code and personal hygiene standards

Basic Computer Literacy:

  • Ability to operate POS systems or billing software (training will be provided)

  • Familiarity with barcodes, price tags, and product identification
