Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Assembly:

Install, fit, and assemble instruments, control panels, and measurement systems on-site, ensuring that they meet safety and quality standards.

Mount sensors, transmitters, control valves, gauges, and other instruments according to technical drawings and specifications.
-
Set up instrument systems, including piping, electrical wiring, and components, in accordance with operational requirements.
2. Calibration and Testing:
-
Calibrate instruments and control devices to ensure accurate readings and performance.

Perform testing and troubleshooting of systems to identify faults or discrepancies in instrument functionality.

Adjust instrument settings and configurations to optimize their operation in line with process specifications.
3. Maintenance and Repairs:
-
Inspect and maintain a variety of instruments used for monitoring and controlling machinery, process parameters, and environmental conditions.

Repair and replace faulty components, including sensors, controllers, and actuators, ensuring that systems return to full operation as quickly as possible.

Carry out routine and preventative maintenance on instruments and control systems to extend their lifespan and minimize downtime.
4. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

Identify and resolve issues with instrument performance by analyzing data, reviewing system diagnostics, and utilizing troubleshooting techniques.

Use specialized diagnostic tools and instruments (such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and pressure gauges) to pinpoint issues in electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems.

Collaborate with other technical teams to resolve complex instrumentation problems affecting production.
5. Safety and Compliance:

Follow all relevant safety guidelines, standards, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, particularly when working with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

Adhere to national and industry-specific regulations, including OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) or IECEx (International Electrotechnical Commission Explosive) standards.

Ensure that all installations and repairs meet regulatory and operational safety compliance.
6. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of installation, maintenance, and repair work performed on instruments and control systems.

Provide accurate documentation of calibration settings, testing results, and any modifications made to the system.

Report any recurring issues or potential safety hazards to the appropriate personnel for corrective action.
7. Collaboration and Coordination:

Work closely with engineers, electricians, and other maintenance personnel to ensure the integration of instruments into the overall process control system.

Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress, technical challenges, and any operational updates.

Support project managers or supervisors in ensuring that installations or maintenance tasks are completed within budget and on time.
