Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting in Installation and Setup:

Assist in the installation of instruments, sensors, transmitters, and control devices under the guidance of senior technicians.

Help with the mechanical and electrical setup of new instrumentation systems, ensuring proper alignment and connection of components.

Assist in the routing and securing of cables, wiring, and instrument lines as per design specifications.
2. Supporting Calibration and Testing:
-
Help senior technicians with calibrating instruments by performing basic tasks such as connecting equipment or adjusting instrument settings.

Assist in testing instruments after calibration to ensure they are working correctly.

Use basic diagnostic tools like multimeters and pressure gauges to check the performance of instruments.
3. Routine Maintenance Support:

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on instruments, components, and systems as directed by senior technicians.

Assist in replacing minor parts like sensors, seals, and gauges during regular inspections or repairs.

Help perform general maintenance activities such as tightening bolts, securing loose components, or applying lubricants to moving parts.
4. Troubleshooting Assistance:

Assist in identifying faults and issues with instruments by following diagnostic instructions from technicians.

Carry out simple tasks like replacing blown fuses, reconnecting wires, or adjusting instrument readings under supervision.

Work with the team to troubleshoot and repair minor faults in instrumentation and control systems.
5. Safety and Compliance:
-
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while working with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

Ensure that tools, instruments, and materials are handled and stored properly to prevent accidents or injuries.

Adhere to safety protocols such as wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), following lock-out/tag-out procedures, and reporting safety hazards immediately.
6. Documentation and Reporting:

Assist in recording data from routine inspections, calibrations, and repairs performed on instruments.

Help maintain logs of work completed, including details of repairs, adjustments, and any parts replaced.

Support technicians by ensuring that all maintenance activities are properly documented for future reference.
7. Inventory Support:

Help with managing stock levels of spare parts, tools, and other materials used for instrument installation or repair.

Assist in organizing inventory, ensuring that parts and tools are available for upcoming tasks, and materials are stored appropriately.

Report shortages or defective materials to the supervisor to ensure timely replenishment.
8. Team Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with Instrument Technicians, Engineers, and other team members to ensure that instruments are properly maintained and calibrated.

Take direction from senior personnel and follow instructions carefully to ensure that tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

Participate in meetings or briefings to discuss ongoing tasks, project progress, and any issues related to instrumentation.
