Position Overview:

An Insurance Agent is responsible for promoting and selling insurance policies to individuals, families, or businesses, ensuring clients receive coverage that meets their needs and budget. The role involves understanding clients’ financial requirements, explaining policy details, and guiding them through the application and claims process.

Insurance Agents work with life, health, motor, property, and other types of insurance. They are often the first point of contact between the insurance company and the client, playing a key role in building trust, providing financial protection solutions, and maintaining long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prospecting & Lead Generation

  • Identify potential customers through networking, referrals, cold calling, and marketing campaigns.

  • Build a database of prospects and maintain detailed client records.

  • Attend community events, business gatherings, or expos to promote insurance products.

2. Client Consultation & Needs Analysis

  • Meet with clients to understand their financial goals, assets, liabilities, and insurance requirements.

  • Evaluate client risk profiles to recommend suitable policy options.

  • Provide detailed comparisons of plans, benefits, and premiums.

3. Policy Sales & Documentation

  • Explain policy terms, conditions, and exclusions in a clear and transparent manner.

  • Assist clients in completing application forms and submitting necessary documents.

  • Ensure all paperwork is accurate and compliant with company and regulatory requirements.

4. Customer Service & Relationship Management

  • Maintain regular contact with clients to update them on new products and changes to existing policies.

  • Assist clients during policy renewals and encourage continued coverage.

  • Handle customer queries and resolve issues promptly.

5. Claims Assistance

  • Guide clients through the claims process by helping them gather required documents and submit claims.

  • Liaise with the insurance company to ensure smooth and timely claim settlements.

6. Market Knowledge & Continuous Learning

  • Stay updated on insurance industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes.

  • Attend product training sessions, workshops, and sales meetings.

7. Achieving Sales Targets

  • Meet monthly and annual sales goals set by the company.

  • Contribute to branch or team sales objectives.
