Job Description

Position Summary

We are looking for a proactive, driven, and customer-oriented Insurance Sales Executive to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying potential clients, understanding their insurance needs, and selling suitable insurance policies such as life insurance, health insurance, vehicle insurance, general insurance, or investment-linked insurance plans.

The role requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and consultative selling skills. The Insurance Sales Executive plays a key role in educating customers on risk management and helping them make informed financial protection decisions. Whether working in a branch office or in the field, the advisor is expected to build lasting client relationships and meet sales targets consistently.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prospecting and Lead Generation

  • Identify and develop a strong pipeline of potential clients through cold calling, referrals, digital marketing, networking events, and walk-ins.

  • Build and maintain relationships with existing customers for renewals and upselling.

  • Attend community, business, or social events to generate new leads.

2. Needs Assessment and Consultation

  • Conduct in-depth discussions with clients to understand their financial goals, risk appetite, family obligations, and life stage.

  • Recommend appropriate insurance products based on their needs such as:

    • Term Life Insurance

    • Whole Life / Endowment Plans

    • Health & Critical Illness Plans

    • Motor Insurance

    • Unit-Linked Insurance Plans (ULIPs)

    • Retirement and Child Education Plans

3. Product Presentation and Sales Conversion

  • Explain policy features, benefits, terms, premiums, and coverage limitations clearly and transparently.

  • Provide product comparisons to help customers make informed choices.

  • Guide clients through the application, documentation, and premium payment process.

  • Meet or exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

4. Post-Sales Service and Policy Management

  • Assist clients with policy issuance, endorsements, claims filing, renewals, and policy servicing.

  • Follow up with customers on payment reminders, maturity benefits, and bonus updates.

  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and policy details in CRM or sales databases.

5. Compliance and Professional Conduct

  • Ensure all sales activities adhere to IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) or local regulatory guidelines.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of company products, underwriting criteria, and risk assessment procedures.

  • Attend regular training programs and product briefings to stay updated with market offerings and policies.

6. Reporting and Coordination

  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports to the reporting manager.

  • Collaborate with branch teams, underwriters, and customer service teams to ensure smooth policy issuance.

  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and trust.
