Admission to the Integrated Bachelor's - Master’s &
Master's/Integrated Master's-PhD Programme 2019
Eligibility :
Admission to the
Integrated Bachelor's-Master's Program in Science - 2019
Candidates qualified in 10+2 board examination in 2019 with
a minimum first division/60% marks or equivalent grade in both 10 & 10+2
level exams are eligible to apply for admission to this Program (55% marks or
equivalent in 10, 10+2 levels for the reserved category candidates). Those who
have appeared in the 10+2 board examination may also apply but their final selection
will be subject to securing the required percentage of marks in the qualifying
examination. Eligible applicants will be required to appear in a UG
Pre-Interview Screening Test (UPST). UPST-2019 will be conducted in a fully
computer-based test mode on June 28, 2019 in various cities across India based
on multiple choice questions in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and one out of
Computer Science or Biological Science. The UPST will be of a standard
equivalent to All India Entrance Tests at 10+2 level. The shortlisted
candidates will be called for interview, out of which a maximum of fifty
(50) candidates will be selected for the Program as will be declared in
IACS website. Students securing a JEE Mains 2019 or NEET 2019 rank up to top
10000 may be eligible for direct interview, depending on their rank and other
screening criteria. Admitted students entering into the fourth year may be
eligible to receive monthly stipend, following the institute norms. Admission
under the reserved categories, including EWS will be as per rule.
Admission to the
Master's/Integrated Master's-Ph.D. Program in Science - 2019
Candidates having Bachelor's degree in Science or
Engineering with a minimum first division in both 10 & 10+2 levels and a
minimum first class (60% marks or equivalent) in Bachelor's degree are eligible
to apply (55% marks or equivalent in 10, 10+2 levels and Bachelor's degree for
the reserved category candidates). Those who have appeared in the Final
Bachelor's degree examination may also apply but their final selection will be
subject to securing the required percentage of marks in the qualifying
examination. Candidates having Engineering background and opting for School of
Mathematical & Computational Sciences should have adequate training in Mathematical,
Computer and Computational Methods. Eligible applicants will be required to
appear for a Master's Pre-Interview Screening Test (MPST). MPST-2019 will be
conducted in a fully computer-based test mode on June 28, 2019 in various
cities across India on multiple choice questions on the subject depending upon
the choice of School. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the written test
will be called for interview, out of which a maximum of thirty (30) candidates
will be selected for admission in each of the Schools. However, the final
number of selected students for admission will be decided by each School.
Admitted students may be eligible to receive a stipend of Rs. 12,000/- p.m.
(fixed) for the first two years, provided that from the first end-semester examination,
they fulfill the prescribed CGPA and other criteria. On successful completion
of the Master's course, the students satisfying criteria to be prescribed by
the Institute will be considered for admission to the Ph.D. program as
Integrated Master's-Ph.D. students, to whom Junior Research Fellowship will be
awarded as per the prevailing norms, provided they meet the criteria of
national eligibility. Admission under the reserved categories, including EWS
will be as per rule.
Admission to
Ph.D. Program in Autumn Semester of 2019
Applications are invited from highly motivated Indian
Nationals having strong flair in research obtaining 55% or equivalent in
Master's (50% for the reserved category) and qualified in
UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/GATE/JEST/equivalent national level examination in the
prescribed form available in the website for admission to
the Regular Ph.D. Program in the Autumn Semester of 2019 (Announcement for
Admission in the Spring Session is likely to be made around September-October,
2019 in the IACS website) under different Schools of IACS. The Academic Session
for the said Program is likely to commence from July 22, 2019. Selection will
be done on the basis of their academic record, their performance in
UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR-NET/GATE/JEST/equivalent national level examination and
finally, their performance in the written test and/or interview (as decided by
the respective schools). Only candidates, shortlisted after initial screening
of the received applications, will be communicated via email and called for a
written test and/or interview. IACS holds full right of choosing a candidate
and even not selecting any, in case suitable applications are not received/met.
Application Fee : Non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1200 (Rs. 600 for SC/ST and PWD candidates only) will have to be paid online during application process.
