About the Internship:
- The Department has notified 'Internship Scheme for Students of Counseling/ Psychology/Social Work etc" and invites applications from the freshers passed out in the last academic year and fulfilling following eligibility criteria.
- The candidates selected will need to work at various Chidren's Homes,Protective Home,Child Welfare Committees and Juvenile Justice Boards in the state.
The criterion for applying is as given below:
- Passed out from any of the recognised university with a Master Degree in Social Service/ Social Work/Sociology/Psychology/Home Science.
- Passed out as post graduate within six months prior to applying for internship.
- Should have obtained at least 50% marks n aggregate in the final year.

Government of Goa in order to give more impetus to Women and Child in the State carved an independent Directorate in 1997 bifurcating from erstwhile Directorate of Social Welfare called “Directorate of Women & Child Development”. This Directorate deals with all issues pertaining to women and child, for its overall evelopment and empowerment. Various Welfare Schemes of Government of India and State Government meant for women and children are being implemented by this Directorate. The Head Office of the Directorate is situated at Old Education Department, Building, 2nd Floor, Panaji. There are eleven sub-offices each at Taluka level called “Integrated Child Development Services” (ICDS).
