Title of The Project: Continuous monitoring in the change of Ecology of Ananta OCP, MCL
Job Description (in maximum of 100 words):
i. Study of ecological changes due to large open cast coal mining; Assessment of changes in Biodiversity; collection of soil samples and analysis of soil parameters; changes in plant growth due to dust deposition; study of weeds agglomeration; study of depletion of floral resources;
ii. changes in decomposition cycles (pedo fauna and other soil microbial activity); changes in vegetation composition (reduction of native species and increase of afforested fast growing species). Sometimes the candidate will be posted in the field (Talcher coalfields, Odisha).
Essential Qualification: B. Sc (Hons – Botany)
Tenure of Project: 3 years
Desirable Qualification: Candidate pursuing/ appearing M. Sc (Botany) – with specialization in Ecology/ plant taxonomy will be given preference. Knowledge in biodiversity assessment, ecological sampling and analysis, taxonomic enumeration of plant, assessment of faunal biodiversity etc. is desirable. Basic knowledge in MS word, statistical analysis of data with MS- excel, power point is also desirable.
Payment: Rs. 16,400 =00 (consolidated for entire duration of project). Initial appointment of the candidate will be given for one year, and subsequent extension will be given based on performance of the candidate maximum for 3 years or till the end of the project, whichever is earlier.
Age Limit: Maximum 25 years, Relaxation as per Govt. of India Guidelines
