Job Description
About the internship
We are looking for a network administrator to maintain a reliable, secure, and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Monitor and maintain computer infrastructure, particularly emphasizing the on-site servers
2. Handle interactions between the software and the network
3. Work on the network integrity and resilience
4. Test networks for weaknesses or potential sites of compromise
5. Stay abreast of necessary updates
6. Implement security programs with hardware and software
7. Procure new hardware
8. Roll out new software
9. Manage email and internet filters
10. Maintain disk images for new installs
11. Ensure licenses are current
12. Address poor data management practices

Other requirements
1. Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
2. Experience with firewalls, internet VPN's remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
3. Ability to set up and configure server hardware
4. Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
5. Great at organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking
6. Must have done Juniper, Cisco, CWNA, or BCNE training
7. BSc degree in computer science or related field
