Job Description
Job Summary:
An IT Sales Executive is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing business opportunities for IT-related products and services. This includes software solutions (like SaaS), hardware, cloud computing, cybersecurity, networking solutions, or managed IT services, depending on the company’s offerings. The role involves interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, understanding their business and IT needs, and offering customized technology solutions that add measurable value.
This is a results-driven role that requires a balance of technical understanding and strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Prospecting and Lead Generation:

Proactively generate leads through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, industry events, and referrals.

Respond to inbound inquiries and qualify prospects based on their requirements, budget, and decision-making capacity.

Identify and approach key decision-makers (CIOs, IT Managers, CTOs, Procurement Heads, etc.) in target organizations.
2. Product Presentation and Solution Selling:

Understand client IT environments and business processes to tailor appropriate technology solutions.

Present product demos, proposals, and presentations to stakeholders at various levels.

Collaborate with technical pre-sales or solutions architects to develop customized solutions.

Emphasize product features based on technical knowledge and benefits to the client’s business.
3. Sales Conversion and Negotiation:

Prepare and deliver detailed quotes, pricing, and commercial proposals.

Negotiate contract terms, pricing, delivery, and support with prospective clients.

Close deals efficiently while maintaining profitability and alignment with company policies.

Track the entire sales cycle, from lead qualification to final handoff for implementation or onboarding.
4. Account Management and Customer Retention:

Develop long-term relationships with clients, offering upgrades, renewals, and additional services.

Serve as the point of contact for customer concerns or escalations during and after project delivery.

Conduct periodic reviews with clients to ensure continued satisfaction and identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
5. Market Intelligence and Strategy:

Stay updated with industry trends, competitors’ offerings, and emerging technologies.

Identify new market segments and untapped customer bases.

Provide feedback to product and marketing teams to enhance offerings and improve positioning.
6. Reporting and CRM Management:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot).

Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports for management review.

Forecast sales performance and revenue based on pipeline activity.
Required Skills and Competencies:

Technical Acumen:
Good understanding of IT concepts like networking, cloud computing, SaaS, cybersecurity, ERP, or CRM systems, depending on the offering. -
Sales Skills:
Proven ability to build rapport, handle objections, negotiate deals, and close sales effectively. -
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders. -
Presentation Abilities:
Comfortable presenting to individuals or groups via online meetings, in-person sessions, or at events. -
CRM Proficiency:
Hands-on experience with CRM tools to track leads, follow-ups, and pipeline metrics. -
Time and Task Management:
Capable of managing multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously, with a high level of organization. -
Analytical Thinking:
Ability to analyze client requirements and offer tailored solutions that drive measurable results. -
Self-Motivated:
Driven to meet targets without constant supervision; takes initiative and follows through.
