Qualification

ITI (Fitter) Trainee :  10th pass + Full time Regular ITI Course in Fitter Trade. The course must be approved by NCVT/SCVT

ITI (Electrician) Trainee :  10th pass + Full time Regular ITI Course in Electrician Trade. The course must be approved by NCVT/SCVT

ITI (Instrument Mechanic) Trainee :  10th pass + Full time Regular ITI Course in Instrument Mechanic/Electronics Trade. The course must be approved by NCVT/SCVT

Assistant (General) Trainee :  Full time Graduate + English typing 30WPM / 150 Keystrokes Per Minute

Lab Assistant (Chemistry) Trainee :  Full time Regular B. Sc. with Chemistry (Chemistry must be subject in Final Year) / Graduate in Industrial / Applied Chemistry

Diploma Trainee (Electrical) :  Full time regular Diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Diploma Trainee (Mechanical) :  Full time regular Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering

Note :  Candidates who have acquired the qualifications through Distance Learning Mode shall not be eligible.

Training, Emoluments & Placement: 

ITI Trainees I Assistant (General) Trainees / Lab Assistant (Chemistry) Trainees: Selected candidates will undergo training for a period of two (02) years at NTPC sites and will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs. 21,500/- per month. On successful completion of training, these candidates will be absorbed in the regular pay scale with starting Basic Pay of Rs.21,500/- per month (W3 grade).

Diploma Trainees: Selected candidates will undergo training for a period of two (02) years at NTPC sites and will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs.24,000/- per month. On successful completion of training, these candidates will be absorbed in the regular pay scale with starting Basic pay of Rs. 24,000/- per month (W7 grade).

Age Limit :  ITI Trainees / Assistant (General) Trainees / Lab Assistant (Chemistry) Trainees: UpperAge limit is 37 years as on last date of application. Diploma Trainees: UpperAge limit is 35 years as on last date of application.

Selection Process :  Eligible candidates will have to undergo Written / Skill Test as per details given below (Candidates will have to give their choice for appearing in Hindi or English):

For ITI Trainees / Assistant (General) Trainees / Lab Assistant (Chemistry)Trainees :

1st Stage Written Test: The written test will be in two parts. Part-I will be Knowledge Test and will consist of 70 multiple choice questions in respective disciplines as advertised. Part-II will be aptitude test and will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions on General Awareness, Quantitative aptitude and Reasoning. The duration of the test will be 2 hours. Each question carries 1 mark. For General category candidates, the qualifying marks for Technical Knowledge Test and Aptitude Test are 40% and 30% respectively. There is a relaxation of 25% in qualifying marks of written test in both Technical Knowledge Test and Aptitude Test for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates.

2nd Stage Skill Test : Candidates shortlisted in 1sI Stage test will be called for Skill test. The qualifying mark for skill test is 40% in case of General candidates and 30% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates. However, the skill test will only be of qualifying nature. On qualifying skill test, Offer of appointment shall be issued based on merit of written Test only.

For Diploma Trainees :

1st Stage Written test: In first stage, Written Aptitude Test (120 multiple questions) covering General English, Quantitative aptitude & Reasoning will be conducted. The duration of the test will be 2 hours. Each question carries 1 mark. There is qualifying marks (40% marks in case of General category and 30% in case of SC/ST/OBC/ PwBD candidates).

2nd Stage Written Test: Candidates shortlisted in 1st Stage test will appear in 2nd Stage Written Technical Test (120 multiple questions) in respective discipline. The duration of the test will be 2 hours. Each question carries 1 mark. There is qualifying marks (40% marks in case of General category and 30% in case of SC/ST/OBC/ PwBD candidates). Final selection will be based on overall merit in 2' stage written Test only. Offer of appointment shall be issued based on merit.

Test Centers :  Tentatively Test Centre(s) would be in Raigarh City, Chhattisgarh. However, NTPC reserves the right to cancel or add any centre depending on the requirement.
