Job Description
- Job Title: Java Developer.
- Exp : 3yrs and above.
- Location: Pune, India
- Participate in ongoing software development, design, build, unit testing and deployment activities.
- Follow the latest software development methodologies TDD/BDD in order to write bug free, clean, readable/maintainable functioning code.
- Provide technical solutions to business problems as required and build proof-of-concepts as required.
- Support production issues(as required) for quick resolution and prevent recurrence.
- Actively participate in team discussions and white boarding sessions.
- Assist team in achieving goals and milestones for projects with an eye on timelines.
- Experience:Bachelors degree from accredited institution, must have Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
- 3-7years of software development experience in a technology oriented organization.
- Hands on experience with web and application frameworks e.g. MVC, Dependency Injection.
- Hands on experience in designing and developing web applications using Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring boot.
- Experience with Groovy would be a plus.
- Solid knowledge of OOP software concepts, design patterns, and best practices.
- Hands on experience with Database/JDBC using ORM tools e.g Hibernate.
- Hands on experience with application server environments Tomcat/Weblogic/JBoss would be essential.
- Experience working with web-service technologies - REST/JSON would be desirable.
- Experience working on Unix/Linux environments(including Shell scripting) would be highly desirable.
- Hands on experience of working with one of the RDBMS tools Postgre SQL/Oracle/MySQL would be essential. Experience with NoSQL, cache databases would be desirable.
- Proven experience with version control tools such as Git ,SVN, build tools(Ant,Maven, Gradle).
- Experience in working in Agile/XP software development would be essential.
- Knowledge off HTML5, CSS, Javascript technologies would be desirable.
- Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment and learn new concepts / software technologies as needs arise.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-- technical individuals.
- Experience working with eCommerce/B2C, B2B and enterprise software environment(B2C experience would be highly desirable)

Java is a general-purpose computer-programming language that is concurrent, class-based, object-oriented, and specifically designed to have as few implementation dependencies as possible. It is intended to let application developers 'write once, run anywhere' (WORA) meaning that compiled Java code can run on all platforms that support Java without the need for recompilation Java applications are typically compiled to bytecode that can run on any Java virtual machine (JVM) regardless of computer architecture. As of 2016, Java is one of the most popular programming languages in use particularly for client-server web applications, with a reported 9 million developers. Java was originally developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems (which has since been acquired by Oracle Corporation) and released in 1995 as a core component of Sun Microsystems' Java platform. The language derives much of its syntax from C and C++, but it has fewer low-levelfacilities than either of them.
The original and reference implementation Java compilers, virtual machines, and class libraries were originally released by Sun under proprietary licenses. As of May 2007, in compliance with the specifications of the Java Community Process, Sun relicensed most of its Java technologies under the GNU General Public License. Others have also developed alternative implementations of these Sun technologies, such as the GNU Compiler for Java (bytecode compiler), GNU Classpath (standard libraries), and IcedTea-Web (browser plugin for applets).
The latest version is Java 10, released on March 20, 2018, which follows Java 9 after only six months in line with the new release schedule. Java 8 is still supported but there will be no more security updates for Java 9. Versions earlier than Java 8 are supported by companies on a commercial basis; e.g. by Oracle back to Java 6 as of October 2017 (while they still 'highly recommend that you uninstall'[26] pre-Java 8 from at least Windows computers).
