Job Description

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: 10 year experience

 Able to communicate clearly and accurately on technical topics in English (verbal and written) years of proven commercial JAVA experience.

 Knowledge of best practice and patterns across the implementation, build and deployment of JAVA services.

 Proven extensive experience of Java ecosystem and related technologies and frameworks. o Spring Boot, Spring libraries and frameworks.

o Hibernate o Maven

 Fluent in TDD and familiar with BDD

 Knowledge of Git, JIRA, Confluence, Maven, Docker and using Jenkins

 Solid experience of working with RESTful services in microservices oriented architectures

 Solid knowledge of working within a cloud-based infrastructure, ideally AWS

 Knowledge of NoSQL and relational database management systems, especially PostgreSQL

 Experience of building services within event or stream-based systems using either SQS, Kafka or Pulsar, CQRS

 Thorough understanding of Computer Science fundamentals and software patterns

Develop and maintain Java applications using technologies such as Java SE, Java EE, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
Write clean, efficient, and modular code following industry standards.
Collaborate with front-end developers and UI/UX designers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

Participate in designing application architecture, workflows, and software solutions for new or existing systems.
Implement software design patterns such as MVC, DAO, Singleton, and Factory where applicable.
Support the adoption of microservices architecture when modernizing legacy systems.

Develop RESTful APIs and web services for seamless integration between systems.
Consume external APIs and third-party services where needed.
Ensure secure data transmission through proper authentication and authorization (e.g., JWT, OAuth2).

Write unit tests using JUnit, Mockito, or other testing frameworks to ensure code quality and minimize bugs.
Perform integration testing and support QA teams during end-to-end testing.
Debug issues and troubleshoot application performance bottlenecks.

Work with build tools like Maven or Gradle and deploy Java applications on servers such as Tomcat, Jetty, or WebLogic.
Participate in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
Monitor production systems, resolve incidents, and implement fixes to improve system reliability.

Document code, application structures, APIs, and workflows for internal and external consumption.
Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and code reviews.
Communicate progress, blockers, and solutions effectively to stakeholders and team members.
