- Proficient in Java, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
- Knowledge in Java GUI frameworks such as Swing ,AWT and SWT
- Understanding of JVM, its limitations, weaknesses, and workarounds
- Understanding of the class loading mechanism in Java
- Familiarity with concepts of MVC
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming
- Skill for writing reusable Java libraries
- Skill for writing clean, readable Java code
- Experience in code versioning tools, such as Git
- Experience in java game programming is an added advantage
