Doctoral Programs (Ph.D.): Jaypee University Of Information Technology, Waknaghat

The Ph.D. Programs are available in various specializations such as Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics & Material Sciences at JUIT campus. The scholars are required to take up intensive research work under the guidance of a supervisor on a specific problem for a minimum duration as specified. The research work is expected to result in new findings contributing to the knowledge in the chosen field. The doctoral research program gives an opportunity to students to demonstrate their analytical, innovative and independent thinking ability leading to creating new knowledge and showcase its application. The scholars are required to deliver seminars on their research progress regularly and publish their work. Finally, they are required to submit the thesis embodying their research findings for the awarding of the Ph.D. They are also required to take part in some advanced level course work.

The following sub areas are identified in the respective disciplines for undertaking research:

Electronics & Communication Engineering

Computer Science & Engineering

Physics & Material Sciences

Mathematics

Civil Engineering

Fee : Demand Draft of Rs 1000/- in favor of “Jaypee University of Information Technology” payable at Shimla.

Written Examination Procedure :

i) Tests / Questions shall be different for each discipline of the program.

(ii) Test will cover all the core / compulsory subjects in the relevant Master Level degree. Written test would aim at judging the depth of knowledge and potential to do research work

(iii) The syllabus of Written Test for each program has been uploaded on the web site

Personal interview shall be conducted only for the short-listed candidates (Based on the performance in written test) except where candidate qualifies for the direct interview criteria as given in B (ii) above.

Exam Schedule and Venue : (a) Venue: JUIT Waknaghat. (b) Written Exam-19th January, 2017 (10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon) (c) Interview for short listed candidates/direct interview as per B (ii) on 19th January, 2017
