A Jewellery Salesman / Jewellery Sales Executive is responsible for assisting customers, promoting jewellery products, achieving sales targets, and ensuring excellent customer service in a retail jewellery showroom or store. The role demands good communication skills, product knowledge, persuasive selling abilities, and an eye for design and aesthetics.
The Jewellery Salesman / Jewellery Sales Executive acts as a bridge between the jewellery brand and the customer, guiding them in selecting jewellery based on their preferences, budget, and occasion, while maintaining professionalism, trust, and transparency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Assistance & Sales

Greet customers in a warm, polite, and professional manner.

Understand customer needs, preferences, and budgets to suggest suitable jewellery pieces.

Provide detailed information about products, including metal purity, weight, price, certifications, designs, and offers.

Assist customers in trying, selecting, and finalizing jewellery purchases.

Upsell and cross-sell jewellery items, promoting premium collections and latest designs.

Achieve individual and team monthly and annual sales targets.
2. Product Knowledge & Presentation

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of gold, diamond, platinum, silver, and gemstone jewellery.

Understand product specifications such as carat, hallmark certification, gemstone properties, and design trends.

Display jewellery attractively in showcases and ensure proper tagging, pricing, and arrangement.

Educate customers on jewellery care, maintenance, and warranty policies.
3. Customer Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with repeat customers and potential buyers.

Maintain a database of clients for follow-ups, promotional calls, and loyalty programs.

Handle customer complaints and concerns politely and professionally, resolving issues to ensure satisfaction.

Provide excellent after-sales service to build long-term trust and customer loyalty.
4. Store Operations & Inventory Management

Assist in managing stock, inventory, and product availability.

Conduct daily stock counts and report mismatches or discrepancies.

Ensure proper handling, security, and safety of jewellery items.

Coordinate with the inventory and finance teams for billing, stock audits, and product transfers.
5. Billing & Documentation

Handle billing and payment processes accurately and responsibly.

Maintain records of sales, invoices, and customer details in the billing system or POS software.

Ensure proper documentation of jewellery certifications, warranty cards, and receipts.

Stay updated on offers, discounts, and loyalty programs to provide correct information to customers.
6. Marketing & Promotional Activities

Actively participate in in-store events, jewellery exhibitions, and promotional campaigns.

Suggest marketing strategies to increase footfall and sales.

Distribute brochures, catalogues, and promotional material to potential clients.

Promote special collections, seasonal discounts, and festive offers to attract new customers.
