Job Description
a) Name of the post : Research Nurse (RN, CRS Study), 1 Position
b) Department: Department of Neonatology, JIPMER
c) Emoluments: Rs. 18,000 per month consolidated
d) Title of the study: ‘Congenital Rubella Syndrome Surveillance in India’ multicentric study, coordinating institute-National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE), Chennai
e) Duration Ongoing study expected to end in November 2021
f) Qualifications - Essential BSc Nursing Proficiency in speaking local language Tamil
g) Experience: Desirable At least 6 months of experience in clinical trials / research projects
h) Skills 1. Phlebotomy of infants
2. Computer skills including proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications
3. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and investigators
4. Effective communication and organizational skills
i) Job profile :
1. Recruit cases of ‘suspected rubella syndrome’ from the OPDs/wards of the Dept of Neonatology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Cardiology & Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
2. Constantly coordinate with the co-investigators of the above mentioned departments.
3. Seek consent from the participants. Collect blood and throat swabs from the cases.
4. Label and safely transport the samples to the Microbiology lab. 5. Track cases to ensure follow-up 6. Fill clinical record forms and enter it into a database
