Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) invites application for the position Junior Research Fellow

Project: “Snow and Glacier contribution and impact of climate change in Teesta River basin, Eastern Himalaya”

Essential Qualifications:

(i) Postgraduate Degree (with minimum of 55% marks or equivalent) in Professional Courses in Civil Engg./Water Resources/Hydrology/Agricultural Engg./Geomatics/Geo-informatics/Remote Sensing and GIS OR

(ii) Postgraduate degree (with minimum of 55% marks) in Environmental Sciences, Atmospheric Sciences, Meteorology.

(iii) The NET/GATE qualification is mandatory for application.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in High Performance Computing system, handling climate data, numerical and hydrological modelling and computer skills with additional experience in climate data visualization tools.

Job Requirement: The selected candidate will be required to Process & analyse the satellite data, perform GLOF modelling.

Salary: 31000+HRA (fixed as per funding agency)

Age Limit: The upper age limit for the post is 28 years as on the date of interview. Age relaxation of SC/ST/OBC/Women and physically handicapped candidates as per Govt. of India rules.
