Job Description :
- IT Technical Writer role supports the IT OCM and Communications Team with IT changes to the end user experience for global projects and initiatives
- The successful applicant must be able to understand the IT landscape especially Infrastructure practices
- This candidate must also understand change management and delivery practices and must be able to evaluate how IT changes may impact the end user experience
- This role will be responsible for creating technical documents manuals and change impact assessments in addition to documenting complex information in a clear and concise manner and working with Infrastructure and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of the information
- This candidate must be able to develop technical documents in English at a professional business level
- This role will report to the Senior Technical Writer Candidate must be located in Bangalore and work in the office with the Infrastructure team
Role Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with Service Owners and key stakeholders to assess the impact of change on the user experience Help advise Service Owners and PMs on the impact of changes to the user experience
- Plan develop organize write and edit user impact assessments and operational procedures and manuals Support defining how changes will impact different audience groups segmented by location service operating systems etc Research develop and document technical design specifications and test scripts Implement change management practices
- Develop change and communications plans and content as needed Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
- Act as the point of contact between technical teams and the Communications team
- Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
- Utilize a variety of media forms include images and charts Manage updates and revisions to created collateral
- Additional tasks as required Profile Competencies Requirements 2 -5 years of experience in technical writing of software documentation
- Must be available for meetings and collaboration in US Europe and APAC time zones IT experience especially Infrastructure practices
- Availability to travel domestically and internationally for business meetings up to 30 Must be able to write in English at a professional business level Ability to stay focused and deliver on short deadlines
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and remotely PowerPoint and Excel skills Preferred Clear and concise writing style Change management understanding Project management and Marketing and Communications experience Flair for turning technical subjects and jargon into easily understood text Ability to absorb information quickly Analytical mind and an inquisitive nature BS in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent preferred Solid working
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite
