Applications are hereby invited for walk-in- interview for engagement of Junior Research Fellow (06 Nos.) and Field Assistant (05 Nos.) on Contractual basis (purely temporary) under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, funded project entitled,
i. STI Hub as a platform for socioeconomic Development of target schedule Caste Communities of Terai and Dooars Region of West Bengal located at Pundibari in the district of Cooch Behar under the aegis of Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya. Selected candidates will be engaged under the guidance of Prof. Ashok Choudhury, Director of Research, UBKV, Pundibari or other associated scientists of the project. The details of the positions under this project are given below
1. Name of the position: Junior Research Fellow
2. No of Post: 06
3. Remuneration: 31,000+HRA (8%) per month for first two years and Rs. 35000.00 + 8% HRA per month for 3rd years.
4. Essential qualification:
i. M.Sc. Horticulture/ Agriculture (Floriculture/ Bio-chemistry).
ii. M.Sc. in Horticulture/ Post-Harvest Technology/ M.Sc. in Food Technology/ M. Sc. in Food and Nutrition
iii. M.Sc. in Soil Science/ Soil and Water Conservation/ Geography
iv. M. Sc. in Agriculture/ Horticulture/Botany with hands on experience in biochemical and tissue culture laboratory protocols
v. M. Sc. in Agriculture/ Horticulture/any stream of Life Sciencesvi.
vi. M.Sc. in Agriculture/ Horticulture.
5. Desirable:
i. Candidate having working experience in protected cultivation of flower crops/ extraction of bio-molecules will be given preference
ii. Candidate having working experience in microbial techniques will be given preference
iii. Candidates with good practical knowledge of satellite remote sensing/ GIS and soil and water analysis will be given preference.
iv. Previous working experience in isolation of natural compounds. Candidates having working experience on turmeric cultivation and its actives ingredients will be given preference
v. candidates having experience with high precision instruments. Experience in molecular and Bio technological laboratory protocols working will be given preference.
vi. Candidates with previous working experience in Tissue culture/Micro propagation/ potato micro tuber seed production technique will be given preference.
6. Location: Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya
7. Nationality: Indian nationals are eligible to apply
Age Limit:
Age should be below 40 years as on 01.01.2021 (age relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST). Further age relaxation may be given to the candidates with experience in such type of project/ programme.
