Title of the Research Project: “Chemical synthesis of post-translationally modified amyloid beta peptides and their implications to Alzheimer’s disease”

Responsibilities and Duties

The candidate will be get an wonderful opportunity to learn and execute organic synthesis, solid phase peptide synthesis, isolation, characterization of beta amyloid peptides with various site specific PTMs. This work is jointly executed with Prof. T. Govindaraju, JNCASR Bangalore. The candidate will also get opportunities to work in Prof. T. Govindarju’s lab. Extensive invitro studies with the obtained peptides will be executed.

The post is temporary and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum period of Three Years.

Key Skills

Knowledge in the organic synthesis.

Eligibility for JRF: First class post-graduation degree in basic science. The candidate should quality GATE/NET to avail JRF fellowship. (Candidates with industrial experience will be given priority, if they meet basic eligibility criteria)

Salary: Rs.31, 000 (with valid GATE/NET) / Rs. 25,000 per month
