4. Job Description : Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a DST funded research project entitled “Experimental and Numerical Study of Adhesive Bond/Debond Effect on Electro-Mechanical Coupling Behaviour of Piezo-Elastodynamic Structure.” ECR/2018/001662, under the supervision of Dr. Sumedha Moharana, Department of Civil Engineering, School of Engineering, Shiv Nadar University, Gautam Buddha Nagar.
5. Project Synopsis:
a. This project is aimed at developing a novel method of bonding for metal (Aluminium) to piezoceramic transducers (PZT-5H) through Sn-Ag based alloy-bonding technique through thermal activation procedure. A silicon rich solder materials will be used for wire attachment for better electrical signal transmission. To understand the bond behaviour and it has degradation under various environmental condition (moisture, chemicals, and high temperature), degradation in bondline, signal degradation due to disbond and disbond geometry, piezo impedance based monitoring for piezo-structural bond system has integrated for the project objective.
b. These above factors plays significant role while dealing SHM of complex structure with a lot ambiguity. Finally, the above study will be extended to coupled field analysis of piezo-bond-structural system for both bond and disbond configuration. The attempt will be made to understand the bond morphology for different bond condition and disbond geometry through optical microscope and scanning electron microscope.
6. Essential and Desirable Qualifications: The candidate should have a Master’s degree (with a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent grade) in Structural Engineering The candidate should have good experimental skills. Understanding of Structural health monitoring, handling and installation sensors, and vibration based experimental techniques is desirable.
7. Duration of the Project: 3 Years
8. Fellowship: Remuneration (JRF salary) will be as DST norms
