Essential Qualifications: Masters degree in Biochemistry/ Life Sciences/ Pharmacy from recognized University.
Desirable: Experience with Animal Experiments (Rat Model) and Cell Culture studies. Nature of duties Performing animal and lab experiments, Cell Culture, Biochemical & Molecular Biology methods.
Age : 30 years. Relaxed upper age limit by two years in case of women candidates.
Consolidated Emoluments : Rs.16,000 + 30 % HRA per month fixed without any other allowances for 1st and 2nd year. Rs.18,000 + 30% HRA per month fixed without any other allowances for third year.
Tenure: Initially upto one year, extendable to next 2 years based on the performance and release of funding by DBT.

National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a 'Deficiency Disease Enquiry' and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged 'Nutrition Research Laboratories' (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.
