JRF Mechanical Engineering Job in IIT Dharwad at Dharwad

IIT Dharwad is an Institute of National Importance created by an Act of Parliament in 2016. IIT Dharwad has been steadily establishing its operations in its present campus while at the same time, master plan development and construction of permanent campus infrastructure are also in progress. To cater the Institute’s temporary requirement under a project in the Department of Mechanical Engineering; IIT Dharwad intends to hold an Online Selection Process for the following temporary position:

A. Name of the Position: Junior Research Fellow (On Contract)

B. Number of Positions: 1

C. Essential Qualification: B. Tech or M. Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering (fluid and thermal sciences or relevant to aerodynamics) selected through a process described through any one of the following: a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Test – CSIRUGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE b. The Selection process through National level examination conducted by Central Govt. Departments and their agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.

D. Desirable Qualification: 1. Strong orientation towards fluid mechanics or aerodynamics, preferably with experience in high-speed flows 2. Strong orientation towards performing experiments and analyzing the data

E. Consolidated Emoluments: ₹31,000/- per month + 16% HRA

F. Duration of the tenure: Maximum 18 months

G. Tenure of appointment: The appointment for the above contractual position will be initially for 03 (three) months, which can be further extended subject to satisfactory performance, availability of funds in the project and requirement in the project

Job Description: 

1. Fabrication of experimental setup

2. Calibration of instruments and performing experiments

3. Report and presentation of the research work

4. Administrative activities related to the project

Not exceeding 28 years as on the date of selection process
