An Online interview of eligible Indian citizens for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an SERB, Government of India sponsored project in the Department of Physics, National Institute of Technology, Durgapur 713 209, West Bengal will be held as per the details mentioned below:
1. Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
2. Title of the Project: “Computational quantification of mutagenic potential of palindromic sequences in prokaryotic and eukaryotic genomes”
3. Funding Agency: Science and engineering Research Board (A statutory body of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India)
4. Duration of the fellowship: Approximately 3 years, subject to satisfactory performance
5. Fellowship: Rs. 31000/- per month for the fellowship period
6. Essential Qualification: Candidates who have a post-graduate degree in Physics or related subjects (Biologyknowledge not necessary) and who have qualified in any one of the following can apply:
(a) Selected through National Eligibility Test – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE
(b) Selected through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISC, ISER etc.
7. Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of programming
8. Nature of the post: The post is temporary and the candidates will not have any claim for any position in the institute.
