Project Title : “Theoretical Investigations of High Energy Optical Conductivity and Anomalous Spectral Weight Transfer in Cuprates and Other Strongly Correlated Electron Systems”

Qualification : The candidate should have a Master’s degree (with a minimum of 55% Marks or equivalent Grade) in Physics from a UGC recognized University. The candidate should have good analytical and computational skills, and a strong background in Condensed Matter and Many-body Physics, and should be motivated for research.Some familiarity in Programming (preferably with Fortran 90/95) is needed. Some familiarity with computational techniques and use of software packages such as Mathematica and MATLAB is desirable.Candidates with some acquaintance with the field of Strongly Correlated Electron Systems and related areas will be preferred.Candidates should be NET qualified, to get full benefits. Other qualifications like JEST/GATE will also be given preference. (See also the “Fellowship” Section below.)
Fellowship : As per DST norms, fellowship is 31,000/- p.m. plus HRA as permissible for first two years. There will be enhanced fellowship in the third year (if, applicable) as 35,000/- p.m. plus HRA.
