Job Description

Name of the Position: Junior Research Fellow/ No. of Positions: 02(One in each of the above projects)

A. Project Title:1. Genomics-led improvement of biotic and abiotic stress tolerance in mustard rape for economic and environmental sustainability'

2. Project title: A way forward to developing aphid-resistance in Indian mustard (Brassica juncea): Host- and virus-mediated gene silencing of parthenogenetic genes in mustard aphid

Emoluments (per month): Rs. 31000/- + HRA for 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 35000/- + HRA for 3rd year and onwards

Essential qualifications: Master’s degree in Plant Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Life science/ Bioinformatics/Basic Biological science/Agriculture or Graduate or Poste Graduate Degree in Professional Courses selected through a process described in SERB Office Memorandum (O.M) No. SB/S9/Z-06/2019 (Dated: 23rdApril, 2019).

Desirable: Working Experience in Molecular Biology Techniques, Bioinformatic tools, prior

exposure of working on transcriptomics and gene expression analysis, plant virology

Age Limit: 35 years max. (5 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and woman candidates as

per DBT & SERB rules). The post is purely temporary in nature and is co-terminus with the project.
