Title : “Genetic Enhancement of Minor Pulses: Characterization, Evaluation, Genetic Enhancement and Generation of Genomic Resources for Accelerated Utilization and Improvement of Minor Pulses”

Junior Research Fellow/01 Post

Qualification : Post graduate degree in Plant Breeding/ Molecular biology/biotechnology/ botany/ /Genetics with first division/60%marks/ equivalent overall grade point average along with NET/GATE qualification OR Post Graduate degree (Masters degree) in professional courses in life sciences/plant sciences/Agriculture with specialization in Genetics and/or plant breeding/ plant biotechnology with first division/60% marks/ equivalent overall grade point average. OR Graduate degree in professional courses in life sciences/plant sciences related discipline with first division/60% marks/ equivalent overall grade point average along with NET/GATE qualification. 

Pay Scale : Rs. 25000/


Project Assistant /01 Post

Qualification : 1. 10th (matriculation) pass 2. Minimum one year of experience in laboratory or agricultural fields/farms such as sowing, harvesting, data
recording etc.

About Company

In an unprecedented initiative, NBPGR, for the first time, has characterized and evaluated (preliminary) entire germplasm of wheat (22000 accessions comprising T. aestivum, T. durum and T. dicoccum) conserved in the National Genebank, at three locations in during Rabi 2011-12. At CCS HAU, Hisar, the wheat accessions have been characterized under optimum conditions. Data on 32 agro-morphological characters are used to develop a core-set. At IARI Regional Station, Wellington wheat germplasm were screened against rusts and other major foliar diseases. A sub-set of accessions identified to be potentially tolerant/resistant are being screened at two other hot-spots. At NBPGR, Issapur Farm, two sets of wheat germplasm, one under normal sowing and second set under late sowing were screened for terminal heat tolerance.
