JRF /Project/Field Assistants Plant Breeding recruitment at IARI purely on temporary/contractual basis

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

No. of Post : Rice-01, Chickpea- 01 ,Maize- 01

Project entitled: “Application of Next-Generation Breeding, Genotyping, and Digitalization Approaches for Improving the Genetic Gain in Indian Staple Crops”

Essential: Master’s degree in Genetics/Plant Breeding/Genetics and Plant Breeding/Seed Science/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Bioinformatics with 4/5 years bachelor’s degree. Those with 3 years bachelor’s degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET qualification or equivalent or Ph.D. in any of above disciplines. Desirable: Experience in molecular techniques computer skills

Pay Scale : Rs. 25000 + 30% HRA

2. Senior Research Fellow (SRF) ICAR-BMGF /No. of Post : 01

Project “Characterizati on, mapping and transcriptome analysis of seed protein, βcarotene and mineral contents in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)

Qualification : Essential: Master’s degree in Genetics/Plant Breeding/Genetics & Plant Breeding/Plant Biotechnology/Life Sciences with 4/5 years bachelor’s degree. Those with 3 years bachelor’s degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET qualification or equivalent/ Ph.D. in any of the above disciplines.

Desirable: Experience of conducting field crop experiments, hybridization techniques, data collection, good knowledge of computer operation, etc

Pay Scale : Rs. 25000/ + 30% HRA per month

2 Project/Field Assistants ICAR-BMGF /No. of Post : 01

Project entitled : “Application of Next-Generation Breeding, Genotyping, and Digitalization Approaches for Improving the Genetic Gain in Indian Staple Crops’’ Pigeonpea:

Qualification : Essential: 12th or equivalent pass

Desirable: Experience in field and lab work related to agricultural research as evidenced by experience certificate of at least two years.

Experience in field work and crossing programme in crops preferably Pigeonpea/ pulses crops

Salary : Rs. 16,962 per month As per the minimum wages of Govt. of NCT, Delhi. (w.e.f 01.10.2018)

3 Project/Field Assistants/01 Post

Project Title : “Improving Chickpea adaptation to environmental challenges in Australia and India (DBT-AISRF Project)

Qualification : Essential: 10+2 or equivalent pass Desirable: Experience (minimum 2 years) in field work like bund making, irrigation, weeding using kasola and kurpi, crossing in chickpea/ pulses or field crops , harvesting, threshing as evidenced by experience certificate

Pay Scale: Rs. 16,962 per month As per the minimum wages of Govt. of NCT, Delhi.

4 Lab /Field Assistants /No. of Post : 01

Project Title : Allelic variations for Kernel Row Number (KRN) and Cob Length (CL) genes in subtropical maize (Zea mays L.) germplasm and their utilization in developing high yielding maize hybrids (DSTSERB Project)

Qualification : Essential: 10+2 or equivalent pass from recognized board

Desirable: Experience in field work like bund making, irrigation, weeding using kasola and kurpi , pollination of maize plants (minimum 2 years), seed preparation, single plant tagging, leafsample fixation for DNA isolation, plant harvesting, data recording, Computer knowledge.

Salary : Rs. 16,962 per month As per the minimum wages of Govt. of NCT, Delhi.

Age limit : Maximum 35 years for JRF positions, and 30 years for Project/ field Assistant position, respectively. For women/SC/ST/OBC, an age relaxation of 5 years will be given as per Govt. of India/ICAR rules
