Job Description
Project: “Molecular and Genetic Characterization of Selected Important Ornamental Fishes of North East India'
Qualification: Master of Fisheries Science / M.Sc. (Life Sciences)/ M. Sc (Zoology)/ M. Sc. (Biotechnology)/ M. Tech (Biotechnology) with 4/5 years Bachelor Degree.
Desirable: Research experience in molecular biology.
Method of Selection: Selection shall be done on the basis of the interview.
Age Limit: Below 35 years for men and 40 years for women as on the date of interview.
Emoluments: With NET qualification: Rs.25,000/- + HRA (30%) per month for the first two years and after committee assessment, Rs. 28,000 + HRA (30%) per month for the 3rd Year. No accommodation will be provided. Without NET qualification: Rs.12,000/- + HRA (30%) per month for the first two years and after committee assessment, Rs.14,000 + HRA (30%) per month for the 3rd Year. No accommodation will be provided.

The Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai was established in the year 1961, under the Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India. The Administrative control of this Institute was transferred to ICAR in 1979. Subsequently, the scope and mandate have been widened to include education, research and extension. Recognising the pivotal role played by the Institute in Human Resources Development in fisheries, the Institute was accorded the status of Deemed-to-be- University in March, 1989
