Job Description

Job Overview:

A Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting with financial record-keeping, preparing reports, and supporting the accounting team in managing financial transactions. They ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations while helping maintain the company’s financial health.

Skills:

Solid working knowledge of MS Office with a strong level of proficiency in Excel
Administration of accounts receivable and accounts payable
Efficient maintenance of the integrity of general ledger accounts
Preparation of accurate financial accounts and reports to comply with accounting principles and practices
Engagement with budget development and financial forecasting
Able to accurately gather, interpret and analyze financial data
Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize to meet strict deadlines.
Proven ability to quickly learn and use new technologies and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Transactions & Record Keeping:
- Record daily financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and expenses.
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Bank Reconciliation & Cash Management:
- Reconcile bank statements with company accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor cash flow and report discrepancies.
Assist in Financial Reporting:
- Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support the senior accountant in creating balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
Tax & Compliance:
- Assist in tax calculations, filing returns, and ensuring compliance with tax laws.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
Payroll Assistance:
- Help process employee payroll, including deductions and benefits.
- Maintain payroll records and verify employee working hours.
Data Management & Analysis:
- Input financial data into accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, SAP).
- Analyze financial information and identify trends or discrepancies.
Supporting Administrative Tasks:
- Organize and maintain financial documents and files.
- Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
