1. Junior Analyst in the Drugs Testing Laboratory 2015 – 2016, 2016 - 2017 (Code No. 2006) Tamil Nadu Medical Subordinate Service (Code No.049) /14 Posts
Qualification: A Degree in Pharmacy or Experience in the analysis of drugs for a period of not less than one year.
A Degree in Chemistry or A Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry Experience in the analysis of drugs for a period of not less than two years.
or Candidates who possess Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry with Analytical Chemistry as a special subject. Experience in the analysis of drugs for a period of not less than one year.

2. Junior Chemist in Industries and Commerce Department 2013 – 2014, 2015 - 2016 (Code No. 1914) Tamil Nadu Industries Subordinate Service (Code No. 044)/ 6 Posts
Qualification: Must possess a first or Second Class Post Graduate Degree in any Branch of Chemistry of any university or institution recognized by the UGC. (OR) Associateship Diploma of the Institution of Chemists (India). Note Other things being equal, preference shall be given to a candidate who possesses a post graduate degree in Analytical Chemistry or to a candidate who possesses practical experience for a period of not less than one year in any recognized research or Analytical or Metallurgical Laboratory.
Explanation: i. “Recognised Research Laboratory” means laboratory recognised by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Government of India. ii. “Recognised analytical or Metallurgical Laboratory” means a Laboratory, which is engaged in Testing and Analytical and issues Test Certificate.

Qualification: (1) A First or Second Class Degree in M.Sc., in Chemistry OR Chemical Technology OR Industrial Chemistry OR Associateship Diploma of the Institution of Chemists (India). and (2) Experience in research in pure or applied chemistry or Analytical Chemistry for a period of not less than 2 years.

4. Archaeological Chemist in Archaeology Department 2015 – 2016 (Code No.1844) Tamil Nadu General Subordinate Service (Code No.036) /1Post
Qualification: Must have obtained M.Sc., (Chemistry) degree.
Pay Scale : Rs.15,600-39,100/- (PB2) + 5,400/-G.P Pre-revised.
Note: (i) The qualification prescribed for this post should have been obtained by passing the required qualification in the order of studies viz. 10th + HSC / Diploma or its equivalent +U.G. degree + P.G. degree as stipulated in Section 25 of Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act 2016. The results of examination should have been declared on or before the date of Notification.

Final selection will be made on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates at the Written Examination and Oral Test taken together subject to the rule of reservation of appointments. Appearance in both the papers of the Written Examination and Oral Test is compulsory. A candidate who has not appeared in any one of the papers in Written Examination or Oral Test will not be considered for selection, even if he/she secures qualifying marks in the Written Examination or Oral Test.
