To monitor, supervise and help the registrars in the following:
Airway management - bag mask ventilators, intubation
Haemodynamic monitoring and resuscitation including IABP
Respiratory monitoring and resuscitation
Ventilators management- invasive and non-invasive
Placement of central and peripheral venous access
Management of trauma patients
Common invasive procedures like Lumbar Puncture, Thorancentesis, abdominal paracentesis
Daily patient evaluation and documentation
To do duty as per duty chart
To supervise the work of Junior Consultants
Assess clinical status- plan further management- investigation and treatment
Coordinate treatment plan with primary consultants and referral consultants and report directly to them.
Emergency management of any critical event
Update of patient condition and counselling of family
To follow the hospital practices and demonstrate initiative aligned to ensuring the safest possible environment for patients and staff.
Academic:
Daily bed side case presentations
Weekly audit/journal club/quality control meetings
Once a week lecture based on (ISCCM) Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine s Certificate course training programme
To participate and contribute to departmental quality initiatives
To be aware of departments performance and objective.
To carryout data collection/support in data collection.
To adhere the safety norms of hospital and follow both patient and staff safety rules.
To perform any job / task as and when assigned by the superior.
