Junior Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a committed and technically proficient Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the core engineering and MEP sectors. This role is ideal for candidates who have undergone hands-on training in mechanical systems and are looking to apply their knowledge in real-world projects involving HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting systems, and industrial mechanical setups.
The ideal candidate should have a foundational understanding of mechanical processes, system integration, and safety protocols, and a willingness to learn and grow under the supervision of experienced engineers. This position offers the opportunity to work with reputed companies in infrastructure, real estate, commercial construction, manufacturing, and industrial utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical System Implementation

Assist in the design, layout, and execution of mechanical systems such as HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, piping, and fire suppression systems.

Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants during the project planning and coordination stages.

Interpret mechanical drawings, equipment schedules, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities).
2. Project Execution Support

Conduct on-site inspections and supervise the installation of mechanical systems as per approved designs and specifications.

Coordinate with civil, electrical, and structural teams to ensure mechanical system alignment.

Monitor and report on the progress of mechanical installation work, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
3. Quality and Safety Compliance
-
Ensure adherence to industrial safety protocols during installation and commissioning activities.

Support in the implementation of quality control measures such as pressure testing, leak testing, and system balancing.

Report safety concerns, non-compliance issues, or design conflicts to supervisors in a timely manner.
4. HVAC and Plumbing Systems
-
Gain working knowledge of HVAC system components such as chillers, AHUs, ducts, VAVs, and VRV/VRF systems.

Assist in the design and supervision of water supply, drainage, and plumbing systems including pumps, valves, pipes, and sanitary fittings.

Perform basic load calculations and assist in equipment selection based on building requirements.
5. Technical Documentation and Coordination

Maintain and update daily site reports, installation checklists, test certificates, and inspection logs.

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely delivery of materials and equipment.

Attend project meetings, take notes, and follow up on engineering tasks assigned.
6. Maintenance and Commissioning

Participate in the testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems during project handover.

Understand and document the operating procedures and maintenance protocols of installed systems.

Support facility and maintenance teams in resolving technical issues post-installation.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Technical Knowledge

Strong foundational understanding of mechanical engineering principles and thermal systems.

Knowledge of HVAC equipment, ducting layouts, plumbing components, and fire protection systems.

Familiarity with basic load calculation tools and mechanical CAD drawings (AutoCAD, Revit MEP is a plus).
Problem Solving & Analytical Thinking

Ability to read technical drawings and identify mismatches or conflicts.

Practical approach to troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges during execution.
Communication & Teamwork

Clear verbal and written communication for effective coordination with cross-functional teams.

Safety Awareness

Understanding of industrial safety standards like PPE usage, LOTO (Lockout Tagout), confined space safety, etc.
