Junior Medical Officer/ Project Technician III (Lab Technician) job vacancies in National Tuberculosis Institute (NTI), Bangalore on temporary & contract basis
Project entitled ‘A Phase III, Randomized, Double Blind, Three Arm Placebo Controlled Trial to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of two vaccines VPM 1002 and Immuvac (Mv) in Preventing Tuberculosis (TB) in Healthy Household contacts of Newly Diagnosed Sputum Positive Pulmonary TB Patients’
Junior Medical Officer (3-Posts) (As per NTI reservation roster) 60,000/ - p.m.
Desirable: Any Postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) Diploma in Medical Sciences. Previous experience in conduct of Randomized Clinical Trials.
Project Technician III (Field Worker) /2 Posts
Desirable: Degree with one-year field experience in health science. Knowledge of Computer applications - Microsoft word, excel, power point and usage of tablets for data collection
Pay Scale: Rs. 18,000/ -pm.
Age: Not exceeding 30
Qualification: 12th pass in science subjects with any one of the following: (i) Two years Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (ii) One year Diploma in Med Laboratory Technology with one year laboratory experience in a recognized institution Training and competency in AFB smear, culture; handling of mycobacterial cultures; Knowledge of Microsoft word, excel and power point.

The ICMR survey of 1955-58 showed that there were 4 sputum smear positive cases and 16 radiologically positive cases of pulmonary TB per 1000 population and this problem was equally distributed in rural and urban areas. Considering the magnitude of the problem, a need was felt for formulating a programme addressing these issues.
