Project Title: In-situ and Ex-situ Conservation of Endemic Andaman Edible-nest Swiftlet in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Essential Qualification: Minimum 55% marks in Masters’ Degree in Zoology/Life Sciences/ Wildlife Sciences/Bioscience/Biodiversity/WildlifeConservation/Environmental Sciences/ Ecology and Evolution and related subjects,
Desirable Qualification: Candidates with rock climbing experience will be given preference. Candidates should be fluent in Hindi speaking and writing and willing to work in tough terrain conditions
Age: Below 28 years, The upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically challenged category
Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/- per month plus HRA as applicable
Description of Work: The selected candidate is expected to study ecology and behavior of swiftlets and assist the Principal Investigator in project activities.
Duration: Two years from the date of engagement and may be extended for further period based on the requirement of the project
Project Title: Establishment of National Avian Forensic Laboratory at SACON for National Certification for Illegal Trafficking of Birds.
Junior Research Biologist – Bioinformatics/01 Posts
Essential Qualification: Minimum 55% marks in Masters’ Degree (MSc/MTech) in Bioinformatics/Biochemistry/Biophysics/Molecular Biology/Biotechnology from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualification: Database development skills and programming skills in C, C++ and Java. Experience in Perl. Experience in Functional genomics of animals. Experience in de novo whole genome sequence assembly and tertiary analysis. Experience in performing whole genome sequencing using NGS machines. Should have experience in bioinformatics tool development
Age: Below 28 years, The upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically challenged category

Description of Work: The selected candidate is expected to undertake next generation sequencing, whole genome sequence assembly including tertiary analysis, maintain lab server and assist project Investigators in other project activities.
