Indian Institute of Technology BHU Varanasi (IIT BHU) invites application for the position Junior Research Fellow
Project Title: Factor Affecting Exhaust Emissions of Motorized Two Wheeler in an Indian Tier-II City: A Case Study of Varanasi
Minimum Qualification: B.Tech. and M.Tech. in Civil/Mechanical Engineering (must be GATE qualified)
Preferred Experience/Skills:
a. Knowledge of vehicular emission
b. Experience with field data collection related to traffic engineering
c. Data analytics skills (such as Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet, Python, R and alike)
d. Ability to drive a motorized two wheeler (scooter or motorcycle)
e. Good technical writing skills and motivation to publish the work in reputed journals
Nature of Work: The research involves on-road measurement of exhaust emissions of a motorized twowheeler along with GPS tracking and video recording of real-time traffic conditions. This position requires data collection, analysis and writing reports and academic papers.
Salary: Fixed emoluments of Rs. 31,000/- per month
Duration of Appointment: The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Project Duration: 2 years
Duration of the Post: Initially for 6 months, extendable up to 2 years based on the satisfactory performance
Age Limit: The candidate must not be more than 28 years old as on January 1, 2021. Age relaxation will be exercised as per the rules of Government of India.
