Junior Research Fellow Jobs in Bangalore - Dayananda Sagar University
Job Description
Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Project Assistant in Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) funded research project (CRG/2018/003474) entitled “Separation of Biobutanol via Scalable Approach of Pervaporation: To be a Viable Biofuel for Future”.
Project Description: Biobutanol as a biofuel has attracted lot of attention due to its several advantages over methanol, ethanol and biodiesel. BuOH can be produced by fermentation of carbohydrates derived from biomass using Clostridium acetobutylicum or C. beijerinckii under anaerobic conditions which is well known as ABE (Acetone-Ethanol-Butanol) fermentation process. The major problem associated with ABE fermentation is severe product (especially BuOH) inhibition during bioprocessing, which leads to low BuOH yield and productivity, and very low final product concentration (3 wt%), causing expensive downstream processing (product separation) costs. The main objective of the project is to develop novel polymeric membranes for the efficient recovery of BuOH from ABE solutions through pervaporation membrane application.
No of position: (01) JRF or (01) Project Fellow depending on the availability of suitable candidates.
